Known for her work in sustainable luxurious textiles Anavila represents a rich tradition of craft and textile in India.
Making her debut at the Amazon India Fashion Week this season, Anavila’s Spring Summer’16 line is an expression of balance on a beautiful palette of monochrome with hints of gold and silver.
Creamy day whites gave way to ecrus and cements finally turning to charcoals and midnight blues.
A soft touch of metal in the form of khatwa and scattered sujni took us to the realm of the sub conscious. The silhouettes were easy and comfortable taking cues from the nature itself.
Layering, enveloping and overlaps were some of the new patterns for blouses and garments showcased.
As an addition the brand also introduced 100% knitted linen garments which was well received by the audience.
Staying true to the aesthetic of the brand, the models were seen wearing beautiful garments that were purely handwoven and hand detailed.
The Runway narrated a story of minimalism and subtle design elements coming together in harmony with each other, creating magic with colour, texture and craft of travel through day and night, yin and yang where energy flows from one to another balancing the universe.
