The promising face of Pakistani media industry, Urwa Hocane made her acting debut in 2012 with Meri Ladli which aired on ARY Digital and was critically acclaimed and marked as one of the most-watched TV dramas of that time.
Fast forward, she made her film debut in 2014 with Na Maloom Afraad, starring opposite Fahad Mustafa and was commended for her performance. The movie met with rave reviews as it was the one of the biggest hits of the new wave cinema in Pakistan ever since its revival. It has also been one of the few films shot entirely in Pakistan. The film with seven nominations also became the most nominated film at the 14th Lux Style Awards, taking home three awards that night.
Na Maloom Afraad which translates to unknown persons in Urdu, is a comedy thriller, co-written and directed by Nabeel Qureshi as his debut directorial film. The story focuses on the three individuals portrayed by Fahad Mustafa, Javed Sheikh and Mohsin abbas Haider who struggle to make ends meet- they have the same goal: to become rich.
